CORPORATE TRAINING

WHAT WE KNOW

Great teams have something about them, they communicate well, everyone contributes,  they meet goals, and there is an underlying trust that is almost palpable. These teams achieve great things, and they do so in a way that reduces burnout, invites collaboration, keeps the ideas flowing and inspires those around them.

Research tells us that high-performing teams have common characteristics:

  • Trust and mutual respect

  • Open and clear communication

  • Defined roles and responsibilities

  • Engaged leadership

  • Collective goals with effective work practise

WHAT WE DO

Our Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, offer a team building day that is a unique approach to experiential learning.  Our workshops take your team out of the office and into the farm.  The workshops focus on building high performing teams within a safe experience with our horses,  enabling teams to reflect and refine their ways of working for the purpose of personal and professional development - stepping out of your every day and into the farm for insight into you and your team.

INTRODUCTION TO EQUINE-ASSISTED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Our intro module day is our core offering and provides teams with a session that explores their ways of working together, pushes them to communicate, build trust and reflect on their strengths and development areas as a team.

Each team will walk away having learnt a bit more about themselves, each other, the way they work together and how to do things a little differently. This isn’t your everyday corporate professional development experience - we don’t do role plays or slide packs. We have a farm, some incredible horses, a set of carefully curated challenges and a facilitated learning experience that will leave your team with fresh insight into their ways of working, with tools to deepen trust, communicate effectively and work together to achieve outcomes.

This is a full day (10 am - 4 pm), including lunch and morning and afternoon tea, consisting of three key sessions.

  • This is the opening of the day and creates a new workspace for the team. This session enables us to build a connection with the horse, to tune into the environment, to step out of our everyday noise and distractions and to really focus on the professional development day ahead. It is about grounding ourselves, understanding non-verbal communication and getting present.

  • The real work begins with starting a few team challenges - testing trust, communication, dependability and psychological safety. Working together to work with the horse teams have to work in a new environment, often out of their comfort zone to figure out how to achieve the goal. Our skilled facilitators help teams to reflect on what happens in this session - it is a learning as well as a session that builds capabilities in and of itself.

  • Over lunch we debrief the session and reflect on how the team is working together using the high performing team framework we consider areas of strength and areas for development.

  • For the next challenge, we will go in with a few insights into how the team is working and pull together all the concepts that have been discussed throughout the day. The team will be able to put into practice what they have learnt, build trust and improve their ways of working.

  • A summary of the experience with reflection on the team, the strengths and areas of development for ongoing work to ensure that the equine-assisted team building empowers your team to continue to improve.

HOW THE DAY RUNS:

On completion of the Introduction Module, your team can further their equine-based team training with one of our four focused workshops.
